Gärtnerei Lindenhof at a glance.

To us, our members are more than just numbers and facts.

Lindenhof was once a farm that raised livestock. Cut flowers were added to the mix in the 1980s, before the farm eventually transitioned entirely into a horticultural nursery. Today, trees, shrubs, bedding and balcony plants, as well as vegetable plants and herbs, are cultivated on just over three hectares of land. The product range is rounded out by floral arrangements, decorative items, and gifts. Sustainability is a top priority at Lindenhof, and management is constantly focused on further developing the business and investing in modern infrastructure.

What matters to our members matters to us, too.

Rike und Alexander Müller

Managing Directors

1. What are your functions and responsibilities, and how long have you been doing this job?

Since 2004, I have shared management responsibilities with my husband, Alexander Müller, while his father, Christian, continues to provide us with support. My primary focus is on marketing, the Lindenhof’s public image, and communication in general—areas where I can really put my creativity to use. Team leadership, floristry, and decoration are also among my key responsibilities.

I love my work. I can be creative, incorporate my personal passion for nature and nature conservation, and interact with a lot of people. It is a privilege for me to be able to work this way. I am happy and content about it. That is not to say, however, that it cannot sometimes get stressful.

We place great importance on sustainability and quality. Whether it is trees, shrubs, or plants for balconies and flowerbeds, our plants are grown under excellent conditions—and it shows. Complementing this are our highly creative floral arrangements and our diverse range of decorative items. You can sense throughout that our entire team is truly passionate about what they do.

About 80 percent of our customers are private individuals who shop directly at Lindenhof and appreciate what we call an “experience-based shopping” environment—featuring a children’s playground, animal enclosures, and a wide variety of plants. The remaining 20 percent of our customers consist of local municipalities and other commercial clients from the surrounding area.

Now, in early spring, customers are raring to go for the gardening season, and we have our hands full. We greatly appreciate the fact that our team gives their all, even during these peak periods. To ensure our continued success, we focus on quality, sustainability, and innovative management.

Above all, there is the rising number of extreme weather events, which are clearly being felt as a consequence of climate change. In addition to heavier rainfall, hail, and violent storms, we view flooding as the greatest threat. If our facility were to be flooded, it would be a genuine catastrophe for us.

We have been very lucky so far and have only experienced minor damage. These were things we could easily absorb—both organizationally and financially. Everything fell below the deductible threshold.

Nothing but positive. From the initial consultation right through to regular contact with the field sales team, we feel truly understood and supported. The fact is, we sleep more soundly since switching to Gartenbau-Versicherung. It is reassuring to know that, should the worst happen, we wouldn’t be left to face it alone.

That they provide us with quick, unbureaucratic assistance in the event of a serious loss—which will hopefully never happen—and that their communication remains just as open, personable, and clear as it has been so far.
